I've had it for some time now and I'm loving its light weight and good size, its stylish looks and practical shape, its programming, ease of use, and variety of functions, and its amazing value for the price! (You might find the personal style either quite entertaining or annoying - but most likely entertaining and informative ;)]
Sturdiness:
-It's been dropped (twice), soaked (just once), and roughly "manhandled" but it's as if nothing happened to it. (although if something does happen to it it would mostly be my fault, but it can probably last for 3 more years at least, provided I don't mess it up any more.)
-Charges well and quickly (2h-4h charge time max), good battery life, it usually lasts me three to four days, but when I first got it it only lasted for a day-and-a-half since I was playing music like crazy.
Functions: It plays-
music;
- sounds really good (the earphones aren't perfect but they're much better than what other reviews make you think; they're actually better, sound-quality-wise, than those that come with an ipod)(but they are kind of "big")
- allows you to make playlists (just pick the song you want in order, click the options button, and select "add to playlist," continue doing so until you got all the songs you want, they will be located under [playlist-my list])
- and something I found to be better yet were "folders" - just like Windows' folders, you copy your music into the folders on the music player's memory drive, and they play in order when opened from a folder (like from a computer)
-it's also compatible with what just about all formats a person actually needs, and if you find some weird format you can always convert it with the player's software(more about this below under video)
FM radio; all stations, good reception, sometimes useful when you're bored with your music although I personally almost-never use it (*almost* never, which makes it stil useful).
video; - Can only play a certain low-quality-format, necessary for proper display on a small screen (but the quality of the
formatting doesn't matter because of the size of the screen), which can easily be converted via the software provided
and factory-loaded onto the player, which can easily be installed on the computer. It comes with a virtual
manual/guide that tells you how to use the software and how to convert.
pictures (which is useless to me - don't want pictures to keep playing over and over in my pocket)
- If you want to show your loved ones to your friends or vice-versa, they'll always be with you in your pocket.
And even text! (WHICH I ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO USE!)
- It has a neat timer that automatically flips "pages" enabling fast and efficient reading,
- You can also set a "virtual bookmark" and pick up where you left off [although I don't know of many who'd
rather read than listen to music, but there's always the chance if they're bored with music].
- There are different font colors - not that pretty but they *are* colorful
- Compatibility wise, just make a (.txt) document in the text directory and copy paste whatever you want to
read later - most likely if you want to read it quickly and efficiently (main reason anyone would want to
do it) - into that (.txt) document and save it. No other compatibility but you can always copy-paste.
- Negative: You can't listen to music while reading off of it :(
Finally, it can also be used as a "flash drive," one that is with you all the time (I have a couple of what-I-consider-valuable Powerpoints and Words along with applications for safekeeping in case both my computer and back up get fried - you never know!)
Customer service is just on a strictly-business basis, if there's a question you have, you call and they'd answer it, without pestering you with newsletters and reminders, but you have to make the call or they won't show any concerns.
Compared to the other not-so-less-expensive version of this player, this one is much nicer and better looking, it has a bigger, nicer screen, more accessories (including a cloth sleeve much like what one uses to clean his glasses keeping it protected), a sleeker, more attractive design, and a much higher overall satisfaction rate in the product :). I would recommend *this one* to those who are doubting whether to spend a couple of extra bucks on a better quality product or go for the cheaper one - I had to make the choice myself when I bought it, and I'm glad I didn't choose the cheaper version. Also black is too dull and too common - unless you don't like the other colors - I wouldn't choose black, I went for blue and it looks fantastic :) [just an opinion and recommendation].
I hope I've answered any question anyone would think of asking about this mp3 player, and I'm glad to say that I'm very happy with the product, everything that I wanted and more I found in it, and for an excellent price. I sincerely recommend this product to EVERYONE wanting to buy an MP3 player, and it is truly the best thing out there. {no exaggeration}
